This privacy statement explains how the Nutritional Wellbeing Foundation collects and uses personal information.
We collect and use personal information for the following purposes:
1. Potential grant recipients
In order to identify organisations that we may like to fund, we review publicly available information (put into the public domain by the data subjects themselves) and may subsequently approach the people identified. At this point they are given the option to opt-out of any further contact. We only make individual approaches and never engage in non-targeted mailings. The grounds for processing this data are that it is in our legitimate interest to identify charities and other organisations who may need funding.
2. Grant proposals
The process of inviting and reviewing proposals involves processing personal information for the purpose of assessing the request for funding. This process generally covers organisational information, but may include details of Trustees, employees, volunteers or other relevant stakeholders. We will also process information relating to the organisation’s finances during the assessment process.
When personal information is required e.g., contact details, this will be provided by the applicant, or through public records such as the Charity Commission or Companies House. Where the information is provided by the applicant, we will make sure they are directed to this privacy statement and require that they have authority to include any personal data.
We process this information for the purposes of our legitimate interests in ensuring that our grants are allocated to appropriate recipients.
3. Grant monitoring and Review
Once a grant offer is accepted, we will process personal information related to general correspondence e.g., about payments and the progress of the work funded.
If the grant recipient makes reference to details of Trustees, employees, volunteers or relevant stakeholders, it is their responsibility to have their authority to do so and to make them aware of this privacy statement. We do not accept any information capable of identifying the individuals that have been supported through our funding.
We process this information for the purposes of our legitimate interests in ensuring that grant funding we have provided is used in accordance with the terms of the grant award.
4. General enquiries
We do not accept unsolicited proposals. Any emails of this nature or other general enquiries received by email will be deleted once dealt with. We do not store this information.
Storage of information
Proposals, grant reports and other related documentation and associated emails will be stored for six years from the point of application or from the end of any funded period, whichever is later.
We recommend all applicants and grant recipients to review their data protection rights listed on the ICO website for further information.
We have security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accessed by unauthorised people and to prevent unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage.

We keep this privacy statement under regular review and will place any updates on our website.
